Raccoons

Introductory Facts

  1. Raccoons are omnivores, and eat insects, mice, fish, eggs, and trash, so you can find them in all sorts of settings including the city. They hibernate, so they gorge on food in autumn and then sleep all winter in their dens.

  2. Raccoons live in tree holes, logs, and attics, and spend the first two months of their lives in a hole high in the tree.
